Following the success of Bitchin' Sauce Presents, Bitchin' Sauce is deepening their alignment within the music space, launching a new music label called Bitchin' Music Group in affiliation with Universal Music Group. The label plans to focus on developing established and up-and-coming artists across the americana, country, and rock genres. Currently, the music studio is under construction in Nashville, where future artists will be able to record and work on their sound.
"We are thrilled to be launching Bitchin’ Music Group with Universal,” said L.A. Edwards. “We were on tour full time when we started Bitchin’ Sauce. At first, we thought Bitchin' Sauce would just supplement our crazy life on the road, but it obviously became something bigger than that and we have been devoting most of our time building the Bitchin' brand over the last 10 years. We’ve been doing music on the back burner the whole time, playing shows when we’re on sales trips, solidifying our sound, and writing songs about the whole ride. “Blessings From Home; Volume 1” was recorded back in January pre-pandemic at Bear Creek Studios in Washington just outside Seattle. Ryan Hadlock (Lumineers, Foo Fighters, Vance Joy) did an excellent job producing it and we had members from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers playing in the session band. We got snowed in for a week and came out on the other side with something we’re really proud of. We’re so excited to finally get it out there and get back into the music space!”

The label's first record will be Blessings From Home: Volume 1, from Bitchin' Sauce co-founder L.A. Edwards. Their lead single “Trouble,” came out on 10/30 with the full Volume 1 release scheduled for Dec. 4.
Following their 2018 debut album True Blue, L.A. Edwards generated nearly half-a-million streams independently and were named "Flat out amazing" by No Depression. It led to performances with The Beach Boys, Jefferson Starship, Amanda Shires, and The White Buffalo as well as appearances at Pilgrimage Festival, Bumbershoot, Kaaboo, FloydFest, and AmericanaFest.
Bitchin’ Sauce Presents was a virtual concert series built to help support artists sidelined by COVID-19. The show featured 10 different artists: Shakey Graves, Jamestown Revival, Nikki Lane, Lillie Mae, The White Buffalo, Lucinda Williams, Dawes, G-Love, Jaime Wyatt, and Jade Jackson.

You didn't think we'd miss the biggest brunch of the year did ya?
Decked out in our finest pastels, the Bitchin' crew took over the patio at Farmer and the Seahorse restaurant in Torrey Pines for our 2nd annual Easter eggs-travaganza! Bitchin' kids and adults alike enjoyed a springtime chill sesh complete with a full brunch buffet and a never ending supply of brunch mimosas. Did we mention never ending mimosas?

While the adults mingled, battled it out at cornhole, and sipped on some flowery bevs at the Easter feaster, the Bitchin' kiddos scrambled for eggs! Following an exclusive VIP meet and greet with Mr. Bunny-Man himself, our little eggs-perts got in line for a seriously Eggs-treme egg hunt! The event (led by the Bitchin' Bunny's balloon-animal-making assistant) contained an impressive 720 candy-filled eggs, splayed out on the vast lawn of the venue. The kiddos walked away smiling bright, carrying questionably large hauls of sweet confections in their brim-filled Bitchin' baskets.

Spreading love through delicious & nutritious food- that’s what the Bitchin’ Mission is all about!
This Summer, Bitchin’ Volunteers drove up to neighboring Oceanside, CA to visit the good folks at the One Kitchen Collaborative. The OKC is a like-minded bunch with a supremely Bitchin’ Mission of their own- to create food waste solutions and address food insecurity in our community through catering, food production, and education programs. OKC works with cities, nonprofits, food banks, senior centers, and schools around San Diego County.
The One Kitchen crew takes this mission seriously, with an ultimate vision to become a model example of zero-waste hunger relief. In that vein, they’ve contributed 600,000 + meals to the community since 2020, and have helped divert 434,111 + pounds of food waste since March 2023. Those are some seriously Bitchin’ figures!
Once there, the Bitchin’ Gang was instructed to help prep chilis, onions, lettuce, and other veggies for meals. They organized the pantry, packaged jam, and learned the ins and outs of OKC’s mission while they built relationships with OKC staff.
“OKC has found a way to create a purpose in the kitchen!” Said one Saucy Server. “Not only to enjoy the cooking process but to do it with intent. There has been so much joy in lending a hand to give children a yummy and nutritious meal!”
Another team member summed it up nicely: “Reducing food waste and feeding people in need is pretty Bitchin’!”
We always strive to make a truly Bitchin’ Good impression wherever we go- so it meant a lot that OKC followed up on us with some truly warm and wonderful words:
“Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE, at your Bitchin' organization, is truly stellar to work with. You all radiate such positivity and joy in every interaction. It's clear your organization is well led and company culture is prioritized. Your team is even more bitchin' than your sauces!”
One Kitchen Collaborative is the latest in our many super-Bitchin’ partnerships with local & national non-profit organizations through our Bitchin’ Givin’ program. Since 2020, we’ve contributed over 8,000 hours of volunteer work to various projects, ranging from children & family programs to food relief, to environmental care. The 4th of July comes at the perfect point- just as the temperature rises in the sunny San Diego climate, so does the tempo at Bitchin’ Sauce HQ. With everyone deep into their work crafting the most delicious dips in the world, it’d be easy to forget to take a Bitchin’ breath- but luckily, our Bitchin’ Events team had been planning for months in advance for exactly this moment. Bitchin’ Party Patrol to the rescue!
After an early punch-out and shutdown Friday evening, Bitchin’ employees moseyed on over to our picturesque lagoon-side Bitchin’ Beach Club property in Carlsbad.
Attendees were immediately welcomed with a waft of grillin’ burgers and dogs, courtesy of the patty-pros at Full Metal Burgers. Of course, drinks a-plenty were provided.
With so many Bitchin’ little-uns roaming around, we also wanted to make sure this 4th of July bash was a bonanza for all ages. Bounce house? Check. Face painting? Check. All-you-can-eat Handel's Ice Cream? Checkaroo.

As folks munched and sipped, they got acquainted with the main event of the night…

Ain’t no gold stars or prize tokens here- we came to play with real, bonafide cash on the line! With 5 events of varying complexity, there was a way for everyone to test their mettle. Those with a devotion for whipped cream competed in the “Find the bubble gum” competition. There is only one rule… you cannot use your hands! Andrea Vela took the gold leaving her husband Johnny to wash the whipped cream out of his beard in defeat.

But to win big, you had to prove your ‘Murican muscle in one of three longstanding USA love affairs: Hot Dogs, Freshly Baked Pies, and good old fashioned toe-steppin!
With the guidance of a most-helpful experienced instructor, feet flocked to the dance floor for a Texas 2-Step stepathon. This was a test of mental grit and physical fortitude, but one saucy duo made it farther than the rest- Darla Misiuk and Alexa Bloedorn simply could not be stopped! Legend has it they’re still dancing to this day.

Meanwhile, Ray Hart once again proved he had the guts of glory with a powerhouse performance at the Hot Dog Scarfin’ Showdown– for the second year in a row! 7 weenies later, he walked away with $250 and held down his title of Reigning Hot Dog Eating Champ!!

Lastly, for the biggest competition of them all, culinary craftsmen from all over the company were tasked to bring forth their most primetime pie recipe for a Totally Bitchin’ Bake Off. Judges blind-tasted an array of artfully prepared pie entries, but in the end, three winners stood above the rest:

In third place, with a scrumptious Lemon Blueberry Cream Pie, Chelsea Buonaguidi took home Bronze with a cool $100 award!

In second place, with an addictive Key Lime Pie, Judy Valdovinos with a $200 Silver award. Yeehaw!

Finally, the judges were blown away by our first-place winner, Ani Decroce, with their utterly unforgettable Peach pie. For their dedication to dessert-discipline, Ani took home a Bitchin’ Grand Prize of $500! Congrats and well done!

There was one last pastry-related surprise awaiting Bitchin’ partygoers. Bitchin’ Bosses from each company department were called forth. It was time to get pied! Bitchin’ team members got a chance to let out their true feelings- via mass quantities of whipped dairy. Not to name names, but we heard Jenn Sanders was still pickin’ the last bits of pie out of their ears on Sunday…

It was a chock-full night spent together with some of the most bodaciously Bitchin’ crews ever assembled- the folks that make Bitchin’ Sauce so special and so doggone delightful. We’re so grateful to our Bitchin’ Events staff who organize increasingly awesome and ambitious celebrations every year for us to enjoy.

Bold, red California chiles are what set the scene for our new, rich and complex Thai-inspired curry. Panang has a proper punch, making it a fine complement to fresh veggies, drizzled over meats & alternatives, or anything in need of a Bitchin’ boost.
Rest assured, Panang Bitchin’ Sauce is the real Bitchin’ deal. In pursuit of our never-ending quest for total Bitchin’ excellence, this fresh-ingredient recipe takes its cues from one of the cardinal connoisseurs in the curry cosmos.
We’ve joined forces with longtime friend and master of curry-craft Momoko Jackson to prepare the special, small batch curry paste that provides our almond-based recipe a true Panang "pow". Momoko, known to local San Diegans as the owner of World Curry restaurant in Pacific Beach, is drawing from 25 years of experience serving a global assortment of region-specific curries.
For Panang Bitchin’ Sauce, she’s artfully blending hand-roasted vegetables, fresh chiles and spices herself, right out of her beachtown kitchen. Yes, it smells incredible.
Winding back ten years ago; Momoko (AKA “Momo”) was packaging her own line of craft curries, when she first crossed paths with a young and enterprising husband and wife duo making a strange, savory, almond (!) based sauce for local Farmers Markets. Sharing similar production needs, Bitchin’ Sauce co-founders Starr and Luke Edwards found a fast friend & ally in Momo Jackson.
"Bitchin' Sauce was born in the hyper-local San Diego food scene, and Momo was right there with us packing tubs & making labels over a decade ago,” says Starr, recanting the history. During those crucial early years, the crew was filling tubs of Bitchin' Sauce and 'Oh MoMo' curry hand in hand, serving the hungry people of San Diego, and cultivating a lasting Bitchin’ network of friendly foodies and culinary craftsmen. It remains a fondly remembered period of Saucy History- filled with laughs, a good amount of Bitchin’ elbow grease, and many pints of oh-so tasty San Diego beer.
Early batches of Panang Bitchin’ Sauce featuring Momo's curry made seasonal showings in the Farmer’s Market scene. The flavor has been something of a company legend ever since- spoken of in hushed, longing tones. At last, in 2023, the time was right to rekindle the Panang partnership.
“Her curry expertise is invaluable,” continues Starr, “and it was truly a no-brainer bringing her skill and savvy to this new Bitchin' flavor."
It’s been a Bitchin’ journey to store shelves- like the rest of our flavors, it’s the product of years of care and Tender-Bitchin’-Lovin’! With Panang hitting Sprouts shelves now across nearly 400 stores, we’re stoked to be giving the masses a chance to try this small-batch Bitchin’ness!

When one of your most Bitchin’ teammates reveals a secret watersport passion, there’s only one response: all hands to the Bitchin’ deck! Early this spring, our Saucy Safety Manager James Novella approached the Bitchin’ Marketing team with a grand proposal. The conversation went thusly:
“My Bitchin’ dudes, I’m canoeing with my best boat-bros from May to June and there’s gonna be a whole boatload of people there to celebrate. Total banger event. You in?”

This Bitchin’ back-and-forth went on a deal longer than can be described here, but *eventually* a plan was settled. The totally righteous San Diego Outrigger Canoe Club, a member of the wider Southern California Outrigger Racing Association (SCORA), was hosting a very special race-o-palooza, attended by scores of locals across Southern California. Bitchin’ Sauce would be there in force with a fully decked out & Bitchin'ified canoe of our own!

At all six races in the SDOCC season, the sauce made...waves! And yes... we brought the Sauce with us, too! We were happy to provide some shoreside snacks & spread the Bitchin' love with hundreds of folks out in Mission Bay, Santa Barbara, Marina Del Rey, Ventura, and Long Beach. We met a whole Bitchin’ bunch of cool peeps doing it! We're so incredibly stoked to have been included in such a welcoming community this rowing season. It’s the most wonderful time of the year for Givin’! This season, the Bitchin’ team went all out to share the holiday spirit with Olive Crest Foster Families and it was nothing short of magical! We hosted our 5th Annual Bitchin' Tree Lot for families who are dedicated to preventing child abuse by strengthening, equipping, and restoring children and families in crisis, and we were beyond excited to give back.

Our saucy crew kicked things off early, gift-shopping for 75 kiddos to make sure every child felt special. From baby dolls and dinosaurs to makeup kits and action figures, there was something for everyone to unwrap!

We transformed the Bitchin' Beach Club into a beachside North Pole, complete with festive decorations and holiday tunes. Over 70 Christmas trees were donated! Families chose their perfect tree, while our Bitchin' crew trimmed, wrapped, and loaded them up, snapped photos with Santa, and made memories with some holiday crafts and treats. The whole lot was buzzin’ with laughter, excitement, and merry Bitchin’ vibes!

It was a day filled with teamwork, joy, and the heartwarming spirit of Bitchin’ Givin’. Thanks to everyone who made this event possible - we’re so honored to have helped make this season bright for so many!
