Bitchin' Sauce

In our usual Bitchin’ rhythm, “the Sauce” is serving more than just eager mouths and hangry bellies. This February, we sponsored a performance-driven video series crafted by No Depression and captured at the Hwitan Hotel in Falkenberg, Sweden during Rootsy Winter Fest. Brad Wagner, the video series host, describes Rootsy festival as “a collective of music superfans that book their favorite Americana roots artists and provides space for them to thrive in front of Swedish audiences.”

The Bitchin’ Sauce team promoted (10) international artists spanning from Falkenburg’s hometown hero, Johan Örjansson to Bitchin’ Sauce’s very own co-founder L.A. Edwards.

L.A. Edwards performed (3) songs from their new record “Out of the Heart of Darkness” (released on their very own Bitchin’ Music Group label) following their soundcheck at the Tryckhallen main stage.

Wagner says, “L.A. Edwards and his band of brothers rocked Rootsy Winter Fest a few days after the last date of their European tour opening for Lucinda Williams. Three of the five band members are literal Edwards brothers, while the remaining two members are brothers in spirit.”

According to L.A., “Now You Know” is a song about being unable to find your way home “no matter how hard you look.” Brad says “The constantly searching and seeking vibe of the lyrics feels right at home in the Laurel Canyon vibe of the music. Bonus points and a tip of the cap to brother Jay Edwards for the penny whistle solo!”

“Let It Out” and “Stick To You” close out the saucy sesh in Sweden, featuring ripping guitar solos from brother Jay Edwards, and melodic mastery from honorary brother, Landon Pigg on the keys.
